Managing Director Robot Telemanipulation SRI International Menlo Park, CA, United States
Abstract: SRI created the DaVinci Surgical robot and has extended that technology to allow robot telemanipulation as part of the laboratory and pharmaceutical manufacturing workflow. SRI’s XRGo software is integrated with 3rd party robot arms to allow a person to remotely control a robot arm for tasks that are too hard or complex to automate. This allows people to resolve a number of use cases typically focused on repair, maintenance, or remote work. This provides more effective operations as well as a way to comply with new regulations such as Annex 1.
Today XRGo has integrated with Staubli’s Pharma robot arms. Here is a video to see how the system works.

Today, people are placed in labs and the pharma manufacturing process where they create hazards [breathing, etc.] or the environment is hazardous to the people. This takes time and money and also increases the risks. The regulations around the pharma manufacturing sector continue to change, increasing the need for robot telemanipulation, such as SRI's XRGo software.
Participants will be able to understand what the future holds that will allow companies to remove people from pharmaceutical manufacturing areas, decreasing the human-pharmaceutical interaction.
