Research Associate II
The Broad Institute
Patrick Byrne is a Research Associate at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard’s Center for the Development of Therapeutics (CDoT). He earned his bachelor’s degree in the Biological Sciences from the University of Chicago, where he contributed to neuroscience research on the control of the tongue in the rhesus macaque. Now, Patrick works in CDoT’s collaborative screening group, developing cell-based imaging assays to interrogate the mechanisms behind disease at a high-throughput scale. He is particularly passionate about identifying therapeutics against rare diseases which currently lack treatment options. To further his ability to contribute to this goal, Patrick will pursue his Ph.D. in the fall.
