Julia Tenhaef is a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute of Bio- and Geosciences (IBG-1) at Forschungszentrum Jülich (FZJ), Germany. Her expertise includes a background in molecular biology, fluorescence based biosensors and laboratory automation. In 2021, she joined the microbial phenotyping group of Stephan Noack at FZJ. Her research focuses on the transfer of hands-on molecular biology techniques to automated, autonomous workflows. Currently, she is responsible for the operation and development of an automated strain construction lab at the IBG-1.
Apart from her own research, she is active in the field of scientific communication to educate about biotechnology and it’s advantages.
