Razan El Khaled El Faraj, a passionate scientist, has embarked on an academic journey focused on unravelling the complexities of cancer biology. With two MSc qualifications, one in bioengineering from Cyprus International University, Cyprus, and the other in biomedical engineering from the École des Mines in Saint-Etienne, France, she set out on a mission todeepen the understanding of cancer and its treatment.
Her passion for cancer research was sparked during several internships, each focused on different aspects of cancer and treatments. These experiences strengthened Razan's commitment to advance the field of cancer biology, with an emphasis on personalised medicine.
Razan is in her 3rd year of doctoral studies (PhD program ) at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology. Her focus is on personalised oncology in the field of blood cancer. Using a droplet microarray, she is studying the subtleties of differential gene expression after treatment. Her ultimate goal is to contribute to the development of more effective and personalised treatments for cancer patients, thereby improving their chances of recovery and well-being.
