Dr. Malekjahani obtained his PhD in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Toronto. His doctoral work led to the development of a multiplexed point-of-care diagnostic that is being commercialized by Luna Diagnostics in Toronto, Canada. In addition to his experience in the private sector, he built diagnostics for the Canadian government during the COVID-19 pandemic. His work in diagnostics development was central to the Canadian NRC's Pandemic Response Challenge, where he lead a team of scientists to develop equipment-free diagnostics for COVID-19. Dr. Malekjahani is now based in Boston, working as a Life Sciences Consultant for EY-Parthenon.
