Joel Sanchez Barea is a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Chemistry at Incheon National
University. He received a bachelor’s degree in Biology from Universidad de Malaga, Spain
in 2016. His research interests include the development of SERS-based biosensors and
droplet-based microfluidics, for monitoring rare-disease markers in complex biological samples such as
blood, saliva, and tissues.
