Fabrice Turlais graduated from the University of Hertfordshire in 1998 with a PhD in screening bioactive natural product, sponsored by Pfizer. He starting his career in the Biotech industry in 1999 working in various companies ICR, Celltech (now UCB), Biofocus and CAT(now MedImmune/AZ) in assay development area and screening, developing skills in automated screening systems, project planning, data analysis and reviewing screening campaigns, including compound management of internal collections. He later joined The Automation Partnership, TAP(now Sartorius), as screening and automation specialist to establish and commission state of art ultra-High Throughput Screening platform at Wyeth, USA (now Pfizer) (2005-2007). Moving back to the UK to join Cancer Research Technology (now CRH), as the screening and compound management group leader. There, he grew expertise in Academic-Pharma joint Drug Discovery research programmes, from target validation through HTS and Lead optimisation phase in Oncology, while also managing internal screening pipelines, and supporting CR-UK centres with their Drug Discovery efforts. He was also part of the strategy to externalise CRUK’s compound collection jointly with ICR. Since 2021 Fabrice moved to France to become VP of Sample management at Evotec Toulouse, where he leads the teams supporting internal integrated R&D projects as well as teams serving as external customers’ compound management core teams.
