Asli is a Senior Scientific Liaison at Emulate, a leading Organ-chip US based biotechnology company. In this role, Asli provides scientific consulting to enable researchers to adapt Emulate’ s innovative organ-chip technology to their research projects. Prior to Emulate, Asli spent four years at AstraZeneca as a Senior Scientist within the Microphysiological Systems Centre of Excellence team in the R&D Biopharmaceuticals Unit. At AstraZeneca, Asli contributed to the preclinical safety projects predominantly developing and adapting organ-chip technologies to enhance preclinical drug safety assessment pipelines. Before AstraZeneca, Asli was a research associate at the Welcome Trust Sanger Institute, supporting the development of therapeutics as part of the Malaria program. Asli holds a BSc. in Chemistry, and an MSc in Biomaterials, writing her Master’s thesis on organ-chip research at the Max Planck Institute in Stuttgart, Germany.
